Project Photography
Project photography begins with observation. Of what happens, of rhythm, and of the stories that shape a city or event. Sometimes through preparation and coordination — where viewpoint, timing and light are carefully considered. Sometimes in the midst of the dynamics, where moments unfold spontaneously. Two approaches, one goal: capturing the story of the city with care and precision.
As a resident of Leiden, I am actively involved in what happens in the city. I document activities, record traditions, and provide visual reports of events such as 3 October Fest (Leidens Ontzet) and the Rembrandt Days. People, movement and atmosphere together create the image. Light, composition and timing provide structure and direction.
If you would like insight into urban project photography, I offer lectures and presentations on my work and experience. We discuss vision, approach, image selection and creating a coherent visual report.
The guidance is engaging, informative and personal — with attention to the story behind the image.
